 John Schwerbel (Piano) and Patrick Kelly (Bass), both originally from Neenah, WI, began playing jazz together as freshmen in high school after developing a deep interest in jazz during middle school.  Throughout their high school years, they continued performing regularly and received recognition in competitions, winning the Eau Claire Jazz Festival twice and each receiving the Outstanding Soloist Award at the Eau Claire Jazz Festival.  The duo also performed with the Fox Valley Honors Jazz Ensemble for two years and will be appearing at the Fox Jazz Festival for the third time this summer.  After graduating from Neenah High School, John and Patrick both chose to attend the California Institute of the Arts, where they study jazz performance under Charlie Haden, David Roitstein, Darek Oles, Joe LaBarbera and Paul Novros and have continued to perform together throughout Los Angeles.
